Guy Onuoha, DNP, PMHNP-BC, is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with extensive experience providing comprehensive mental health care to individuals across the lifespan. With a strong clinical background in psychiatry, he specializes in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of a wide range of mental health conditions, including but not limited to depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, mood disorders, and trauma-related disorders.
Guided by a holistic and patient-centered philosophy, Dr. Onuoha integrates evidence-based psychopharmacology with psychotherapy to create individualized treatment plans that foster healing, resilience, and long-term wellness. He is deeply committed to reducing the stigma surrounding mental illness and empowering patients and their families through education, compassionate care, and ongoing support.
Background & Education
Dr. Onuoha earned a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)degree with a specialization in Psychiatric-Mental Health from The College of St. Scholastica. Prior to advanced practice, he served as a registered nurse in a variety of psychiatric settings, including St. Joseph’s Hospital and Unity Hospital inpatient psychiatric units, Community Options Intensive Residential Treatment Center, and Anoka Metro Regional Treatment Center. These experiences provided him with extensive training in crisis intervention, patient advocacy, and collaborative care.
In addition to clinical practice, Dr. Onuoha is passionate about mental health education and advocacy. He strives to raise awareness, promote understanding, and ensure that individuals and families never feel alone in their journey toward recovery.
